Working as a Resourcing lead within the recruitment team, I look after the end-to-end process of finding and attracting talented people to come and join our fantastic company. Day to day, I am so lucky to be able to meet amazing people at the start of their journeys with Virgin Atlantic. Whether it’s from their initial application or reaching out to them unexpectedly about the roles we have on offer, nothing beats making the “you’ve got the job call”. You really are changing people’s lives. I love seeing people join us and flourish in their careers, going on to incredible things and achieving their dreams and aspirations.
I’ve had a squiggly career here at Virgin Atlantic. I started out in our Swansea customer centre (or as you might know it, contact centre) on the phones as an advisor before progressing to team leader. But London was calling, and so I took the leap and accepted a secondment at our Crawley HQ.
While I loved supporting our customers to take on the world, I also enjoyed supporting our customer centre recruitment campaigns, so I took a chance and applied for a secondment opportunity with our recruitment team, and I haven’t looked back since.
It’s been an incredible experience, continually enhancing my skills in recruiting for areas across our Airports, Clubhouses and Customer Centres. This gave me a great foundation to move into our corporate areas, focusing on recruiting for our Finance and People teams. I’ve loved this challenge and can’t wait to see how my career continues to grow.
It’s always been the people who make Virgin Atlantic such a special place to work. But I love how I’m supported to grow and develop through the internal apprenticeship opportunities and specially designed programmes like Springboard, all of which have empowered me to take control of my career.
