Salary:      Competitive per annum 

Hours:       37.5 per week, Monday to Friday 

Location:  Flexible working with up to 3 days a week in our VHQ, Crawley 

Contract:  Permanent

In a nutshell

This senior leadership role has a global, enterprise-wide focus, contributing to all business outcomes; revenue growth, brand equity growth, guest and employee satisfaction. The role is responsible for brand strategy across markets and will involve close collaboration with senior leaders of cross-functional teams. You will drive forward plans for growth amongst existing customers and non-customers, ensuring brand plans are designed to grow relevance and consideration. This includes leadership of comprehensive plans across paid, owned and earned touchpoints. Additionally, you will lead the identification of consumer growth opportunities and champion innovation to expand the brand’s reach and relevance and value creation. As accountable lead for customer and consumer insight, brand strategy & innovation, marketing campaigns, and marketing effectiveness this role is truly unique.  

 
As a senior leader in the Experience function, the role will inspire leadership teams across the enterprise to be brand advocates and uphold a culture of insight led decisioning, creativity and effectiveness. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of the Virgin Atlantic brand which in turn plays a pivotal role in shaping the Virgin mother brand. 

Day to day

  • Building a ‘one-team, one plan’ ethos across the entire team, creating strong collaborative relationships to achieve goals.  
  • Share, promote & embed best practice including external benchmarking.  
  • Lead prioritization of workplans in service of what really matters  
  • Facilitate pace behind the innovation pipeline and speed to market. 
  • Partner with Customer Journey team to embed the innovation process and build understanding of best in class innovation 
  • Partner with sales, revenue management and holidays product teams to develop the customer growth strategy /commercial strategy alignment  

About you

  • Significant experience in brand-led environments, including managing large scale, high value brands with complex routes to market.  
  • Significant marketing experience in the UK market, broader global experience is an advantage.  
  • Significant experience operating at senior leadership level, with accountability for the full marketing mix (eg. advertising, digital, sponsorship, partnerships social etc.).  
  • Strategic thinker with proven track record in brand transformation (i.e. brand turnaround, innovation to market, brand repositioning, brand architecture)  
  • Strong influencing skills: able to develop a simple and compelling commercial narrative which galvanizes the enterprise and c-suite.  
  • Proven track record at leading team transformation, effective coaching, performance management, recruitment and succession planning,  
  • Strong aptitude for leveraging emerging trends and spotting opportunities to outmanoeuvre the competition (e.g. with AI application)  
  • Highly analytical and insight-led; adept at using multiple and complex data sources to distil insight and converting this into cohesive brand and business strategies to support a growth strategy.  
  • Highly commercial and able to adapt to changing market conditions; flexing strategies, plans and budgets
