Location: Hybrid working 3 days a week in either our Cargo Facility at DCE - London Heathrow or VHQ in Crawley. Please note the working week must include a Thursday at DCE.

We are seeking a Route Optimisation Manager to join our Cargo Revenue Optimisation team.

As a Route Optimisation Manager, you will be accountable for implementing revenue management and pricing strategies through constant evaluation and analysis of assigned routes to maximise revenue/contribution and optimise cargo capacity.

You will deliver outputs efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner while maintaining strong relationships across the business to ensure success. As an authority in your field, you will enjoy mentoring and communicating our revenue management principles and practices internally and externally to ensure global adoption and application.

Day to day

You will be making a difference by:
  • Overseeing the accurate forecast of cargo capacity available for commercial sale
  • Delivering strategic, insightful, and informed plans to maximise capacity, including overbooking strategies
  • Working on joint venture capacity management strategies
  • Completing rigorous evaluation of all existing and potential allocations considering displacement of existing business
  • Testing demand elasticity to optimise revenue/contribution through timely bid price management
  • Providing guidance and input on tariffs, contract rates, tenders, promotions, spot pricing, and other airline agreements
  • Undertaking constant evaluation of the market at both macro and micro levels
  • Implementing strategies to facilitate revenue/contribution optimisation through thorough knowledge of route dynamics and timely evaluation of short and medium-term outlook
  • Mentoring and coaching team members, sharing relevant knowledge, experience, and skills so they may develop and perform to a highly skilled standard
  • Working on assigned projects and initiatives including planning, research, and implementation to a successful conclusion

About you

Do you have practical knowledge of the air cargo industry and experience in a discipline related to aspects of revenue management, capacity forecasting, and/or pricing? 

Using your exceptional analytical skills, advanced knowledge of Excel, and high attention to detail you will interpret, analyse, manipulate, and presenting volumes of data. You will have the confidence to make balanced, data-led decisions, incorporating inputs from a variety of sources and constantly working in collaboration with our Sales colleagues to deliver the optimum outcome for the business. 

Alongside the above, we're looking for the following to be successful in this role: 
  • Strong commercial acumen 
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multitask 
  • Experience in communicating complex messages to various audiences 
  • Familiarity with data analysis and visualisation tools such as Power BI (desired)
