In a nutshell
This exciting role helps drive Virgin Atlantic's (VA) strategic priorities at our flagship airports, with a primary focus on Heathrow. You will develop, lead, and manage our Home at Heathrow aspirations, coordinating priorities for major airports within cross-functional groups to deliver our vision.
Collaborating with our JV & SkyTeam partners and the wider airline community is essential. Responsibilities include gathering input from subject matter experts, supporting the Senior Manager with leadership briefs, and representing our commercial position in strategic forums.
Building positive relationships across the business and externally at all levels to influence our strategic vision while demonstrating ‘best in partnering’ is crucial. You'll need strong organisational skills, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and the confidence to challenge the status quo.
Day to day
- Assist with developing and leading VA's long-term Home at Heathrow initiative.
- Work on project development including feasibility studies, scope refinement, and cost and process efficiencies.
- Support advancing strategy and ensuring alignment with internal and JV/SkyTeam partners.
- Represent Virgin Atlantic Ltd. in airport governance meetings, ensuring our strategic priorities are effectively represented.
- Craft concise briefs to inform senior leadership on central initiatives and broader business updates.
- Develop agendas with a clear vision to achieve objectives in collaboration with senior managers.
- Support the commercial relationship with Heathrow Airport.
- Coordinate internal representation at all airport forums, ensuring effective information flow and addressing any blocking issues or critical concerns.
- Seek input from subject matter experts to bring their appropriate expertise to bear.
- Build support and alignment with external airline community colleagues.
- Coordinate joint executive bi-laterals and quarterly business reviews, ensuring all dates are in the diary.
- Gather input to develop ad hoc briefs for the leadership team.
- Coordinate strategic priorities for flagship airports with JV partners to ensure aligned visions.
- Build relationships across JV and SkyTeam partners to leverage coverage at key external forums.
- Develop a strategy and response for airport charges consultations, influencing decisions with significant commercial impact.
- Monitor and report on global airport infrastructure and charges developments, financial and media statements of flagship VAA destination airports and significant global hubs.
- Build and maintain a matrix of global airport charges, working with procurement and business owners.
About you

Alongside the above, we're looking for the following:
- Broad experience in airline customer experience and airport operations.
- Proven experience delivering change initiatives in line with strategic vision.
- Passionate about customer experience and operational excellence.
- Excellent letter drafting skills and attention to detail.
- Proven excellent PowerPoint/Excel/Word skills.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
- Experience collaborating with various collaborators both within and outside the organisation.
