In a nutshell

We have an exciting opportunity for an Airports Border Facilitation Manager to join our fantastic Airport Operations team! In this role you’ll be critical in the implementation of new digital travel requirements for airports, working with our DCS provider Delta to deliver the required technical changes.  You will lead the way in interpreting and communicating all new travel directives and regulations as they relate to airports. Reporting directly to our Senior Manager Airport Customer Service, you’ll collaborate closely with key internal and external stakeholders such as Delta, RMOps, Government Affairs, the Home Office, IATA and TIMATIC.  

Day to day

The overall focus of this role is to own the end-to-end process from the initial communication of border changes to final delivery, considering the needs of both our operational teams and our customers. Other day to day responsibilities include:
  • Subject matter expert on border compliance, regulatory and entry requirements
  • Lead cross-functional teams on travel authority and border facilitation projects
  • Provide expertise, knowledge and input to border related initiatives as they relate to airports
  • Ensure Air4 can comply with existing and new travel directives
  • Foster relationships with industry body representatives
  • Ensure new route start-ups are compliant with all border requirements
  • Represent Virgin Atlantic in border related industry forums and working groups

About you

To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • Proven knowledge of Air4 and SNAPP
  • Proven ability to build relationships and stakeholder management skills at all levels
  • Evidence of experience in interpreting technical requirements into actions, understanding the impact on airports and customers
  • Some understanding of border compliance, regulatory and entry requirements
  • Experience of working in fast paced and ever evolving environments
  • Experience of working within a regulated environment
