In a nutshell

As our Specialist – Cargo Network and Flight Planning, you’ll be at the heart of Virgin Atlantic’s cargo operation, ensuring our network plans deliver maximum commercial value while maintaining our customer promise. You’ll work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to optimise cargo capacity, manage offshore performance, and respond dynamically to operational challenges.

This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives on collaboration, has a sharp commercial instinct, and can balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution.

Day to day

  • Build strong relationships across Cargo, Operations, Revenue Management, and external partners to align on priorities and deliver value.
  • Lead short-term cargo network planning (14-day horizon), using multimodal and partner-enabled solutions to maximise uplift and minimise offloads.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure flight plans are delivered on time and to standard, supporting both commercial and operational goals.
  • Manage and optimise offshore team performance, ensuring process accuracy, quality control, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate responses to schedule changes and operational disruptions, maintaining service continuity and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyse post-flight performance to identify opportunities for improvement and drive smarter decision-making.

About you

Are you a commercially minded planner with a passion for logistics and stakeholder collaboration? Do you enjoy solving complex problems and making a tangible impact on performance? Then this could be the role for you!

Alongside the above, we’re looking for someone with:
  • Strong commercial acumen and customer-centric thinking.
  • Experience in cargo operations, sales, customer service, or commercial planning.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills across functions and levels.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • A methodical approach to planning and prioritisation.
  • Confidence navigating internal stakeholders and external partners in high-pressure situations.
If the above sounds like you, and you're ready to help shape the future of Virgin Atlantic Cargo’s network and flight planning, we’d love to hear from you!
