In a nutshell
We’re on the lookout for a passionate, organised and people-first professional to join our team as Overseas Base Supervisor – Seoul. This is a key role in supporting our South Korea-based cabin crew community, working at the heart of crew performance, engagement and welfare. You’ll be the go-to person on the ground for our flying team, managing welfare queries, supporting with crew logistics, and helping ensure a smooth operational rhythm that keeps people connected and flights moving. Day to day
- Act as the first point of contact for all South Korea-based crew, supporting wellbeing, policy queries and local needs
- Manage first-line investigations, sick leave, compassionate leave and other key crew lifecycle matters in line with local employment law and Virgin Atlantic policy
- Provide crew with timely, compassionate support when challenges arise, keeping roster disruptions to a minimum
- Maintain accurate records and reporting through Crewsade, AIMS, and other systems to track trends and ensure compliance
- Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across crew operations, HR, payroll, airport teams, and travel partners
- Support UK teams with logistics and negotiations for crew services, hotel accommodation and transport
- Promote crew happiness and engagement through proactive support, visibility at the airport, and regular virtual or face-to-face check-ins
- Provide admin support and note-taking during formal meetings, and ensure seamless communication between Seoul and UK/India-based teams
About you
- Experienced in employee relations, with strong understanding of local labour law and a passion for fair, empathetic crew management
- Confident communicator with fluent written and verbal English and Korean; able to liaise effectively across time zones and cultures
- A natural relationship builder who thrives in matrix environments and fast-moving operational settings
- Organised, proactive and calm under pressure, with excellent attention to detail
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; experience using crew or HR systems is an advantage
- Able to work a flexible schedule across a 7-day week, with availability for both local airport presence and virtual global calls
Important information
Virgin Atlantic Airways Limited is currently undergoing the necessary business registration and operational certification process with the Republic of Korea authorities. All hiring will be subject to and contingent upon the successful receipt of applicable permits and licenses, including the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) validation.
At this stage, we are collecting expressions of interest only. Shortlisted candidates may be contacted for preliminary discussions, but no employment contracts will be issued until formal approvals are complete. We currently expect the approvals to be completed within 2025, subject to the decisions of the relevant government authorities. If approved, hiring is expected to proceed in 2025/2026.
